About us

All my life I love animals and more and more I wanted to have them at home. It started with fishlets, budgie, guinea pig and bird spider. During my High shool time I realized my biggest dream - to have my first dog. It was a big piece of luck that I met the springers in the end. 

I have the Springers more than 13 years now. Our small kennel was founded in 2005. The name MAKTOOB is arabic and it is not easy to explain the meaning of the world. The basic meaning is "the letter" but we named so because of other one. Its come to me during reading The Alchemist that has big importance for me.

And we can find the explanation there: "Maktoob What does that mean?" "You would have to have been born an Arab to understand,"he answer. "But in your language it would be something like 'It is written'.

But more than the kennel we are normal family - team or pack. We live with our animals in Prague, the capital city of the Czech Republic. Our pets share our home area, our bets, chairs and all. :) They share our free time with us. They are not only things they are real part of our lifes.

       We are two Aquariuses in Zodiac and due to this fact we need  to be sometimes to snap nearer to the Earth.
